CELEBRITY SCOOP: NAVIN KUNDRA
Rarely does there come across a British Asian singer who has the ability to blow everyone and anyone away with his warm, smooth and flawless vocals that, if you close your eyes, you could easily believe belonged to someone amongst the levels of Sonu Nigam; but when you open your eyes, what you will see is a young British Asian who is working to make his mark on the world.
His name is Navin Kundra and believe me when I say that’s it’s a name that will stick in our minds for long time to come.
With the immense success of his single ‘Tere Liye’ that dominated the Asian music charts for a mind blowing eleven weeks and his latest single ‘Mehbooba’ having an equally powerful effect, Navin Kundra is most definitely on a high that’s simply getting higher and despite his ever hectic schedule, he took the time to sit down and have a chat with ‘Don’t Delay...’
First of all Navin, thank you for taking the time out to talk to us, why don’t you start by telling us what you have been up to over the past year?
Well, I’ve been making non-stop music and it’s been a really good year. We had ‘Tere Liye’ which is a great ballad that was put out over Valentine’s Day, we started with that and it did really well; it went to number one across the Asian charts which I never really imagined could happen and then I thought ok, I need to change my style, I need to change my look and then we come up with the song Mehbooba which was really different and it seems to be doing just as well
You’ve been having such a great year and such success with your music; what would be the next step?
Well currently I’ve got Mehbooba which is out right now; the video for the song has actually just come out which is really good and completely different from what I’ve done before. I’ve done a couple of remixes for ‘Mehbooba’ with Roach Killa and Surinder Rattan which I’m really excited about, there’s also my new single that I’ve finished recording only two weeks ago, that should get released within the next few months, so that should be great.
You’re music is having an incredible impact; it must feel great to perform and see that there are so many girls just screaming at you?
Yeah it’s lovely, that always a great feeling.
