The Art of Yoga


Over the past few years, Yoga as a form of exercise, has increased imensely in popularity and has since become a modernised way to achieve beter health , however to this day , its true origins are not yet entirely known.

Yoga is derived from the Sanskrit word ‘Yuj’ which essentially takes on the meaning to join or unite; i.e. its traditional purpose is for the practicing individual to unite their consciousness and spirit, in other terms what this simply means is controlling your body and mind and thus gaining physical, mental and spiritual development.

Some of the most common Yoga poses:

 

The Warrior

This pose can be successful for stretching your thigh muscles.

Half Moon

This pose can be successful for improving flexibility and strength in the back and waist.

Tree Pose

This Pose can be successful in improving flexibility and balance.
