Asian Music Awards 2010


 The Hollywood award scene has come and gone now it’s the turn of the Asian entertainment industry.

Kick starting the appreciation for all things entertaining and Asian was ‘The Lebara mobile UK Asian Music Awards 2010’. Taking place at the heart of London, the show saw a host of British Asian, Urban and international talent come together for the British Asian music industry.

The night belonged to British Asian star Jay Sean who cleaned up all four of his nominations to pick up the Best Male, Best Album, and Best Video and Best Urban Act awards.

 
 Hosted by the BBC Asian Network’s Bobby Friction and Bollywood actress Sophie Choudry the UKA AMAS saw spectacular performances from a variety of talent from across the globe including Dutch ‘Desi’ Imran Khan, Universals latest dance diva Jaya, rising Urban Star Mumzy Stranger, Bollywood Superstars RDB, Bhangra heartthrob Jaz Dhami and the legendary Talvin Singh.

UK AMA CEO and co-founder Abs Shaid said; “year on year we are making sure we provide a cutting edge event to acknowledge the contribution of Asian artists in the UK…this year Asian artists will continue to make groundbreaking moves in this country and abroad and the UK AMA will keep supporting and recognising their achievements”

This year is fast becoming a massive year for the Asian music scene as May 2nd will see the first ever BRIT ASIA TV Music Awards held in the Symphony hall in Birmingham, celebrating the best in British Asian music.

Presented by Hardeep Kholi; the first ever BRIT ASIA TV Music Awards is set to be one of the most explosive nights of the year.
